Alfie and Jensen

Chapter 1 - The Book

"It's raining in Moscow and I have forgotten my umbrella", the words echo in my head as my eyes glisten as the shadows of my past fade through my mind. I wish my mother and father were still here, because long ago we were reading, "It's Raining in Moscow and I Forgot my Umbrella."

Chapter 2 - The Tragedy

One dark night we were reading our favorite book, “It's Raining in Moscow and I Forgot my Umbrella". The book began to shake violently as it opened a deadly wormhole. Of course know one believes me when I tell them the tragic tale. They all have their suspicions: murder, car-crash, suicide, heart-attack. But I'm the only one who knows the truth - they got sucked into a wormhole

Chapter 3 - Time Goes By

Ten years have gone by and there is still no sign of them. My hope lasted four long years, but since then I have grown up, and I now know that it is physically impossible that they have survived all this time. Since then I have been fostered by two lovely parents. Yet I still go to bed each night praying and kissing the jeweled bracelet that my mother one gave me. I only have one suspicion about that dreadful night.

Chapter 4 - They Were Taken Too!

Screams. Coming from the book. Screams. Coming from the parents room, I hear a loud explosion. Boom! Then the screams stop. Realising what has happened, I start to cry. All my family are gone and I start to panic. My heart sinks. My body drops to the floor.

Chapter 5 - Why Not Me?

Now alone, roaming around the street, I have time to think. Time to think about those two awful nights. Why is it never me? Why that book? Is it only happening to people I know? Just thinking about it makes me feel sick.

Chapter 6 - Help!

A few weeks go by and I start to get hungry and ill, but I know I need to take care of myself. After that I must figure out what happened on those dreadful nights. I feel awful because just before those two dreadful nights we had some terrible fights. Now I think about it, it could not have been a coincidence. It was not just the nights; the whole day I was hearing strange noises.

Chapter 7 -The Mystery is Solved

Those strange noises coming from the library in the fantasy section. The noises were coming from the book! As if it was talking to me, or listening to all of my conversations. Now I am thinking to myself maybe the book is not bad after all. Maybe it was trying to help me!

Chapter 8 - The Return

I drop to the floor begging for all of them to return. Suddenly a loud bang and I am back in my bead back in the year 2009. My parents are reading to me with no recollection of the event. The book thought I wanted them dead...

The End

What a dramatic tale!

I love the idea of the book having a mind of its own. The way the boys used different chapters to show the passage of time is very clever. They tied up the loose ends well, with short sharp explanations that work cleverly with their theme.

The boys used an ambitious range of vocabulary, and cleverly inserted the key phrase.

Well done Alfie and Jensen. Keep writing!
