The book I'm reading at the moment is called It's Raining in Moscow and I Forgot My Umbrella.
Yes, it’s the first book I wrote, and I’ve gone back to it because I’m now writing the fourth book in the series which has become rather complicated. I need to make sure there are no continuation bloopers. For example, the chef at Autumn Days has changed names a few times, so has Herbert, Frank's brother. There are little intricacies as well - something a character might have said, but I can’t remember if I took it out because it was too much of a clue.
Anyway, now that I’m re-reading it. I feel quite proud of myself. It’s really not that bad!
A book that started out with the aim of shining a positive light on dementia has turned into a five part adventure/mystery.
Ninety-five-year-old Frank finds himself in the middle of a situation that could bring about World Destruction or World Peace. Yes, really! It wasn’t my intention to go that way, but I’m constantly surprised at the incredible way one’s imagination can take you to places you didn’t even know were in your head. It's also taking me to places physically - Southwold, The Isle of Wight and Berlin. I feel a bit of a fraud not having been to Moscow, but that might not be sensible at the moment.
And Manya? Where did she come from? Her mum never acknowledged her, and her dad wanted her to become a… oops, I can’t tell you that bit just in case you haven’t read the first book.
I love the characters in my book. I love writing about them, and I love getting feedback from my readers.
If you’ve read any of my books, I’d be so grateful if you could leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. My sales across both series are now into the thousands, and although one book’s reviews have climbed into the hundreds, a couple are still in single figures.
I’m passionate about my writing! I'd do it all day and all night if I could. I’m not writing for money or fame, but I do check every day to see if anyone's left a review. And when someone does, my heart soars and somehow, my writing becomes that little bit better.
Can't wait to hear what you think. Here's the link to my Amazon page. Just a couple of words would make me so happy :)
