It's been another amazing journey for me, reading all these stories. As with last year, I've been astounded by the variety, considering the theme was the same for everyone! I was expecting uplifting and brave, but I also had a lot of scary, exciting, thought-provoking and even tear-jerking.
I was proud to be invited to The Beacon School for boys earlier this year to judge their Creative Writing Competition. It was fascinating to see the different approach between boys and girls (you'll see what I mean when you read the book!) I was delighted when some of the boys subsequently entered my own competition.
I've read, selected, edited, formatted, and created illustrations for all these stories and it has been a joy. The purpose of this whole idea has always been to encourage and celebrate young writers - the hard work has paid off. These young writers have something to say. And now, they’ve got a book to say it in.
