Author‑Led Literacy Clubs That Build Confidence, Creativity and a Love of Reading

If you’re new here, this is the best place to start.

Over the past few months, something exciting has been happening. A small idea I had - a creative, story‑driven literacy club designed to help children read, write and imagine more confidently - has grown into a fully resourced programme now being piloted in local schools.

It began with a conversation with the FCBG NW London Children’s Book Group, who encouraged me to shape the club into something schools could run easily. Then a local councillor came on board, and suddenly we had the beginnings of a funded literacy pilot for schools. Two schools have already expressed strong interest, and we’re now looking at staffing so they can take part.

At the same time, I’ve been speaking to prep schools about offering a fully resourced, author‑led enrichment club - something light‑touch for staff but rich, structured and inspiring for pupils. I’m also exploring accessible audio versions of my books for SEND and visually impaired children.

If you’ve arrived on my website from somewhere far away (and the analytics tell me many of you have), here’s a clear overview of what I’m offering to schools right now.

What I Offer to Schools

1. Author‑Led Literacy Clubs (KS2 & KS3)

A structured, creative literacy programme built around reading, writing and imagination. Designed to support reading for pleasure, build confidence, and help pupils find their voice.

2. Fully Resourced Packages

Each club includes:

  • Books

  • Workbooks

  • Creative tasks

  • Teacher guidance

  • Optional author visit to launch the club

Everything is ready to run - no planning or marking required.

3. Support With Local Funding

I’m currently working with councillors on a funded pilot. If your school is interested, I can explore similar options in your area.

These programmes are suitable for UK and international schools.

Additional Resources for Teachers

Alongside my author‑led literacy clubs, I also create TES‑friendly resources for KS2 and KS3. These include lesson packs, writing prompts, reading activities and creative tasks designed to be easy to use and classroom‑ready.

Why Schools Are Responding So Quickly

Teachers tell me they value:

  • A club that is creative, structured and easy to run

  • A programme that supports reading for pleasure

  • Activities that build confidence in writing

  • A resource that feels fresh, author‑led and genuinely engaging

  • Something that doesn’t add to staff workload

Because the club is fully resourced, schools can run it at lunchtime or after school without needing to create any materials.

If You’re a Teacher or School Leader

If you’re looking for:

  • a new reading or writing enrichment club,

  • a creative literacy intervention,

  • an author‑led programme that excites pupils,

  • or support in exploring local funding,
