Know Your Cities?

Updated: Mar 1

The final sentence was typed. The confetti cannons should have been bursting, a triumphant soundtrack blaring, but all I heard was... silence. Because something strange happened on the journey to my new book's completion.

Back in November, I held the manuscript aloft, convinced it was done. Patrick, my cover design wizard, delivered another stunning masterpiece. This book was ready to launch... until a small voice shattered the illusion.

It was Katie, my daughter, her eyes wide with concern. "Mum," she began, cautiously, "The story... it's good, but the ending..." Well, let's just say her politeness couldn't disguise the truth. And guess what? She was right.

A chilling sense of doubt crept in. Was my ending truly... rubbish? Months of work, countless edits, and it all boiled down to this? Then, a spark ignited: the chance to make it better.

Those final ten chapters? Scrapped. Rewritten from scratch. It was a gruelling sprint, fuelled by sleepless nights and gallons of coffee, but with each word, the story transformed. The butterfly I hadn't seen finally took flight, soaring towards an ending more thrilling, more satisfying than I ever imagined.

So, the book is finished... truly finished. Now, the question is: are YOU ready for the rollercoaster ride? Prepare for twists you won't see coming, characters who will keep you guessing, and an ending that will leave you breathless.

I can't wait to share this journey with you. Stay tuned for the release date and get ready to experience the story that almost slipped through the cracks.

And now, who can guess where the book is set?

If you haven't read the first book in the series, The Runaway Children of Chennai, you can buy it now and be ready for the sequel - title to be announced next week.

(Currently showing as #mostgifted on Amazon!)
